A masterwork of modernist design, the Bertoia Diamond Chair distills form to its essence. Conceived by Harry Bertoia in 1952 for Knoll, this iconic piece features a sculptural welded steel frame that appears to float—a study in geometric purity. The contoured seat pad provides comfort within the wire cradle, while the open structure plays with light and defines space. Versatile enough for a study corner or statement living room piece, it rewards with timeless presence and deepens in character over decades.

Product Description
Harry Bertoia’s 1950 experiment with bending metal rods into practical art produced a revered collection of seating, including the exquisite Diamond chair. Innovative, comfortable and strikingly handsome, the chair’s delicate filigree appearance belies its strength and durability. In Bertoia’s own words, “If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes through them.” The collection is offered with a seat cushion or full-cover upholstery option.
