The Livingspace Story
Within moments of stepping into Livingspace Interiors, it becomes clear this is not a conventional furniture store. It is a space shaped by conviction, where design is taken seriously, quality is non-negotiable, and every detail reflects a disciplined point of view.
Spanning more than 30,000 square feet in Vancouver’s Armoury District, Livingspace’s flagship showroom is housed in a former industrial printing facility dating back to the mid-20th century. The raw concrete structure, soaring ceilings, and expansive sightlines form a striking contrast to the refined modern interiors within. Rather than rows of product, the showroom unfolds as a sequence of fully composed living environments, furniture, kitchens, lighting, and accessories presented as they would exist in real homes: layered, intentional, and enduring.

From the relaxed elegance of sculptural Italian seating to the precision of contemporary dining and cabinetry systems, every piece is selected with a rigorous eye for proportion, materiality, and longevity. Soft leathers, natural stones, finely grained woods, and tactile textiles dominate the space, reinforcing Livingspace’s belief that true luxury is felt as much as it is seen.
Founded in 1988, Livingspace began as a 3,000-square-foot showroom on Vancouver’s North Shore, established with the goal of introducing authentic modern European design to the local market. Early visits to the Milan Furniture Fair set the company’s direction and led to foundational partnerships with European manufacturers, including Minotti of Italy and Ligne Roset of France, relationships that helped define Livingspace’s identity from the outset.
As demand grew, the company expanded into Vancouver’s Yaletown district before consolidating its operations into a larger space in the former Jantzen Swimwear factory at Kingsway and Broadway. Over the following decades, continued engagement with Milan and other European design centres brought an ever-expanding roster of internationally respected brands into the fold.

Today, the showroom features a tightly edited selection of global design leaders, including Minotti, Molteni&C, Baxter, Living Divani, Porro, Poltrona Frau, Paola Lenti, Roda and Arclinea. Rather than overwhelming clients with endless choice, Livingspace emphasizes complete, considered solutions, spaces that demonstrate how furniture, kitchens, lighting, and accessories work together. The experience is deliberately unhurried, encouraging clients to sit, touch, compare, and imagine how pieces will function in their own homes.

Livingspace’s perspective is informed by regular travel to Europe, where the team works directly with manufacturers, previews new collections and engages with evolving ideas around how people live today. This global outlook is balanced by long-standing relationships with Architects, designers, and trades, partnerships built on shared standards and mutual trust. The result is a collection that feels international yet grounded, sophisticated without feeling remote.
Building on more than three decades of experience in interior design, Livingspace recently introduced Livingspace Outdoor, a new expansion and a dedicated location focused exclusively on outdoor living. Responding to the growing importance of exterior spaces in contemporary homes, the division brings together premium outdoor furniture, kitchens, pergolas, heating, and lighting from leading European manufacturers.

Livingspace Outdoor applies the same design discipline, technical expertise, and material standards that define the interior showrooms, while addressing the unique performance demands of exterior environments. Outdoor spaces are approached not as seasonal additions, but as fully realized extensions of the home, designed with comfort, longevity, and architectural coherence in mind.
Architects, interior designers, developers, and discerning homeowners increasingly view Livingspace as a resource rather than a showroom. An experienced in-house team supports projects from early concept through specification, procurement, delivery, and installation, both locally and internationally.

This depth of service, combined with uncompromising curation, has positioned Livingspace as a quiet authority in modern luxury interiors, valued by those who prioritize quality over trend and substance over spectacle.
Today, Livingspace is recognized as one of North America's premier destinations for contemporary European furniture, kitchens, closets, baths, lighting, and outdoor living. With flagship showrooms that reward time and curiosity, and a growing digital presence at livingspace.com, the company continues to define what a modern design destination can be, measured, confident, and built to last.
