The Petal End Table draws inspiration from Queen Anne's Lace, featuring petal-shaped segments that radiate from a central pedestal. "petal" expands and contracts independently to accommodate seasonal weather changes, preventing warping. Lightweight and narrow, it fits seamlessly beside lounge seating while remaining functional as a drinks or accent table. The minimal pedestal base keeps the silhouette open and uncluttered.

Product Description

The Petal tables were conceived to accompany the iconic wire chairs designed by Harry Bertoia. Inspired by Queen Anne’s lace, a wild flower native to Pennsylvania, each of the Table’s eight petals is independently mounted onto a cast aluminum “spider” support. This not only creates a visually interesting form, but also allows the table to expand and contract with changes in the weather. The tables were introduced by Knoll in Los Angeles in 1960 and were immediately inducted into the MoMA Design Collection. Exposed to the elements, teak will weather to a silver grey as seen above.

After studying at the Illinois Institute of Technology under Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, he joined Knoll in the 1950s.
