A Postal Code, Turned Into a Name

Founded in 1995 by architect Philipp Mainzer and designer Farah Ebrahimi, e15 takes its name from the postal code of its first workshop in London's East End. At a time when furniture design leaned toward cold minimalism — aluminum, glass, lacquer — e15 built its identity on solid wood and honest craftsmanship instead. Now headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, the brand collaborates with architects and designers including David Chipperfield and Stefan Diez, with collections available in Western Canada exclusively through Livingspace.

Philipp Mainzer

Founder and Designer, e15

Philipp Mainzer has shaped e15’s design language since founding the company in 1995, trained as an architect and working from a philosophy that furniture should establish trends rather than follow them.

David Chipperfield

Architect, e15

David Chipperfield has designed tables and casegoods for e15 since 2015, extending his architectural restraint into furniture built from simple, honest material construction.
