Porro Closets at Livingspace: Italian Craftsmanship Meets Considered Design.

There is a particular kind of order that comes from a closet designed with real intention. Not just shelves and rails, but a considered system that reflects the way you live, the things you value, and the space you have to work with. That is precisely what Porro has been building since 1925, and it is what you will find on the second floor of the Livingspace showroom today.

Founded in the esteemed furniture-making hub of Brianza, Italy, Porro has spent a century honing a unique talent for sourcing, crafting, and reimagining wood. What began as a local workshop has grown into one of the most respected names in Italian storage design, trusted by architects and interior designers worldwide for its structural intelligence and material precision.

Storage System - Door Style Iron

The Iron door style is a study in restraint. Matte, deeply textured, and architecturally grounded, it brings a quiet strength to any bedroom or dressing room. The Storage system creates an architectural interplay of full and empty compartments, designed to reflect the desires and needs of its users. Configured as a full wall or a more intimate wardrobe, the Iron door style works equally well in a contemporary loft and a more traditional home, its tone-setting quality lying in exactly what it does not shout.

See this system in person on our showroom floor to appreciate the depth of the finish and the precision of the hardware.

Door Style Oslo and Hub Island

The Oslo door is Porro at its most refined. Framed, clean-lined, and available in a range of wood veneer and lacquer finishes, it speaks the language of European modernism without feeling cold. Paired with the Hub Island, a freestanding centre piece that anchors a walk-in configuration, this combination transforms a closet into a true dressing room.

The wide range of modules, variety of doors and equipment, and richness of available finishes make Porro systems modular at will, built around the person and their requests. The Hub Island in particular exemplifies this philosophy: it provides additional drawer and surface storage while creating a visual and functional focal point for the space.

Boiserie

Boiserie takes its name from the French tradition of decorative wall panelling, and Porro's interpretation honours that heritage with a distinctly contemporary sensibility. Used as a backdrop to the wardrobe system or as a standalone wall treatment, the Boiserie panels bring warmth, texture, and a sense of completeness to a room that a simple painted wall cannot achieve.

This is the detail that elevates a bedroom from well-furnished to genuinely designed, and it is the kind of element best appreciated in context. The Livingspace showroom installation shows exactly how Boiserie integrates with the broader Porro system.

Air System

The Air System is Porro's answer to open storage done right. Rationality and functionality are the two words that best describe this modular system, innovative and designed to contain and display stored objects in a completely elegant way. Horizontal crossbeams and vertical uprights create compositions that feel light and airy rather than heavy and imposing, making it an ideal solution for walk-in wardrobes, dressing rooms, or open bedroom environments where visibility and accessibility matter as much as capacity.

The collection is available in several styles and combinations, developed primarily for the creation of wardrobes and walk-in closet interiors, with updates that cater to freedom of combination and the option to mix and match material finishes.

Experience Porro at Livingspace Vancouver

A closet system of this calibre is not something to choose from a catalogue alone. The proportions, the finish quality, the way a door opens and closes, these are things that need to be experienced in person. The full Porro collection, including the Storage Iron, Oslo with Hub Island, Boiserie, and Air System, is currently on display on the second floor of the Livingspace showroom at 1706 West 1st Avenue, Vancouver.

Our team is available to help you think through your space, your storage needs, and the configuration that will serve you best. Visit us in the showroom or get in touch to start a conversation.
