PH 80 Floor Lamp

Poul Henningsen developed the three-shade system between 1925-26, collaborating with Louis Poulsen for its debut at a Paris exhibition. This partnership continued until Henningsen's death in 1967. He aimed to create glare-free lighting with incandescent bulbs, emphasizing direct illumination and soft shadows. The PH 80, part of Henningsen’s extensive three-shade family, exemplifies his scientific approach to lighting, using a logarithmic spiral for even light distribution and controlled glare.

PH 80, named to honor Henningsen's 80th birthday in 1974, features a distinctive red top reflector for warm, atmospheric lighting. Introduced later in black and white finishes, it maintains the original’s opal acrylic shades for diffused ambient light. The black version sports a sleek matte-black stand and socket holder, contrasting with the white top reflector for an elegant aesthetic. Conversely, the white variant offers a minimalist all-white design, completing the modernized PH 80 series with subtle alternatives to the classic model.
