A Fourth-Generation Glassmaker, Building Something New

Founded in 2007 by Leon Jakimič, a fourth-generation glassblower with family ties to Riedel and Swarovski, Lasvit built its identity on Northern Bohemia's centuries-old glassmaking tradition — while deliberately hiring young talent to push it in new directions. Since 2011, Maxim Velčovský has served as Creative Director, with work held in London's Victoria & Albert Museum. Lasvit now completes roughly 300 bespoke glass lighting projects a year across 12 global ateliers, with collections available in Western Canada exclusively through Livingspace.
