From Hammer Mill to Kitchen Icon

Gaggenau's history began in 1683, when Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden, Margrave of Baden, established a hammer mill and nail forge in the Black Forest hamlet that carries the brand's name. That ironworking foundation — metal shaped through centuries of European industry and upheaval — still shapes Gaggenau's design philosophy today, applied to professional-grade cooking, ventilation, and refrigeration for the home. In September 2026, Gaggenau introduced its first fully redesigned oven collection in nearly two decades. Gaggenau's appliances are available in Western Canada exclusively through Livingspace.

In-house Design & Engineering

Gaggenau’s 2026 collection was developed entirely in-house, introducing two parallel design languages — Expressive, with its visible stainless-steel “two frames and a circle” detailing, and Minimalistic, built to sit flush with surrounding cabinetry.
